The Secret

Although I’m enduring some of the hardest things I feel I’ve ever had to go through in life right now, I’m grateful for the pockets of sunshine that I get to experience in the midst of it all.

This past Friday, I took a train ride to enjoy what felt like “day-cation” to Lake Nona. I originally just went for a cardio dance class at Orlando’s Top Rated Fitness studio… “Studio Soul”… but after class I felt I should linger a bit longer as the allure of the city’s events of the day, from “Reggae Day” to “Art After Dark," began to entice me to reconsider my plans to head out immediately after brunch.
Good thing I try to stay ready so I ain't gotta get ready and had the foresight to bring my swimsuit just in case the opportunity to take a dip at the “Wave Pool” presented itself, (although I debated about it for a good hour mainly due to being borderline hangry.)

I enjoyed a few laps, and stretches in the perfectly brisk water, that was neither too warm nor too cold for the mid-Spring Florida sun, and was able to take some gag-worthy selfies in and around the picturesque hotel and sculpture garden.
I’ve been enjoying myself so much lately, and so grateful to feel like my own bestie again! I felt so beautiful rockin' my new favorite dress that perfectly accented the curves of my slim body, a mustard yellow mani/pedi that I'm proud to say I did myself on the train ride there, and my all natural fresh braid-out! I’m so grateful for the Good News of Jesus, who has made me feel whole again, and more comfy in my own skin. It took a lot of self-forgiveness to get here... and I must say love looks good on me!

“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:12-13
My day trip to Lake Nona concluded with catching the musicians at Reggae Day performing their sound check, which was only a small teaser of what the night had in store. And having almost missed the last train via bus with a mere 3 minutes to spare, I left feeling like I experienced a full and happy day, squeezing out the most I could with the time that I had… and looking forward to possibly returning again, maybe next time with the company of loved ones.
Life tends to be very ironic, and tricky, but I’m often reminded of the fact that it’s all temporary, to be grateful, and enjoy it as it comes, taking it one day at a time, one foot in front of the other, and to just stay swimsuit ready and that's on Dory!
